Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob

Biography

Dr. Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob is dean/distinguished service professor emeritus, University of Pittsburgh. Prior, she served as CNO at Western Psychiatric Institute. She is a fellow of the American Heart Association, the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM), the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research (ABMR), the American Psychological Association, and AAN. She served as president of SBM, ABMR and Friends of the NINR. Currently, Dr. Dunbar-Jacob serves as consultant to the Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative, and board member for LeadingAgePA , the Beckwith Institute for Innovation in Patient Care, Nurse Trust, and Presbyterian-Shadyside Hospital UPMC. She serves on the Quality Subcommittee of the Board of the Health Plan UPMC, the ANA work group on Nurse Fatigue. She recently completed service on the board of the NAC of INL and the guidelines panel for management of Gorlin Syndrome. Her research, funded by the NIH, has focused on patient adherence and she has contributed to work on nurse health (google h = 57). Dr. Dunbar-Jacob received her BSN from FSU, her MSN from UCSF, and her PhD in counseling psychology from Stanford University.
